As a Chief People Officer, I’m always on the lookout for experiences that push boundaries, foster connection, and inspire change. This year’s RSP Fall Experience: INSPIRE did exactly that. I’m excited to share highlights that made this event exceptional.
The People: Building Real Relationships
The amazing group of women at this event left a lasting impression on me. It wasn’t just about learning from the sessions; it was about forging powerful connections. I met talented women-from CEOs to emerging leaders, first-time entrepreneurs and those in transition-eager to share their unique insights and journeys. Within a few hours, I engaged in conversations that I know will lead to long-term relationships—something that rarely happens in such a short timeframe.
Networking Opportunities: More Than Just Business Cards
Networking is an essential part of any event, but the blend of focused learning and networking time at RSP Fall Experience was special. A warm, authentic atmosphere created a safe space for meaningful conversations. One memorable moment was when a couple of women told me they were planning to "pop in" for happy hour and leave early. Fast forward to later in the night, I saw them still deep in conversation, enjoying themselves well after the event’s scheduled end. More than networking; it was relationship-building.
The World Has Changed: Embrace the Uncomfortable
The sessions and conversations on the mainstage at RSP made one thing crystal clear: the world has changed, and it continues to evolve rapidly. My fellow speakers and I shared insights on navigating uncertainty and leaning into discomfort, delivering a powerful call to action: get comfortable with being uncomfortable. This event reminded me that to thrive, we must embrace change and adapt swiftly. Voices like Molly Hough’s who discussed her work uplifting fellow female lawyers while balancing her own career, reinforced the idea that every woman has unique talents to share in an impactful way.
Ownership of the Future: WASAMBE
One of the most empowering messages I took away was about owning our futures, encapsulated in the mantra WASAMBE – a declaration of intent and responsibility for our paths forward. It’s easy to feel stuck or uncertain about next steps, but WASAMBE reminded us to put our dreams out into the world and claim ownership. This resonated deeply with me, and I’m excited to apply it in my work, especially when guiding my team to think big and act boldly. The authenticity of each speaker’s WASAMBE story was a testament to their journeys and aspirations.
> WASAMBE: I was, I am, I will be.
This year’s RSP Fall Experience was not just another conference—it was a transformative space that challenged how we see ourselves, connect with others, and approach the future. I left reflecting on the change we want for ourselves and the way we work. By uplifting one another and embracing our WASAMBE, we are primed for success in today’s evolving workplace.
FOMO is real, so I encourage you to mark your calendar for the next RSP event. You’ll leave feeling inspired, connected, and ready to take on whatever comes next. In the meantime, if you’d like to connect with me one to one, feel free to do that, too.
